Our Hats Are Off To You!

THANK YOU!

As a community supported educational think tank, we are dependent on all of you who read these pages to support our operations. We certainly could use more of you to come aboard in cash or kind but are very grateful for the help we do receive. Much of the help we receive comes in the form of assistance by seasoned professionals who give freely of their skills to assure that our value affirming message is delivered. Two such individuals we would like to thank at this time are Gary Springer and Richard Dowell.

I first met Gary when he came to Kimberly-Clark Corporation from John Deere and IBM to run our Marketing Communications function. That responsibility, inside KCC, was an integrated Design, Advertising and Packaging agency and worked hand in hand with our marketing management on product design and brand development. Gary provided the creative leadership that helped build some of America's most well known brands such as Kleenex, Huggies, Scott, Kotex, Depend, and Pull-Ups and made the difference in the success for many of our consumer Products. Gary's creativity has made a significant difference to us as well. With his generosity and brilliance of design his gift of our trademarked Foundation logo and just recently in his design for our Charleston-Caribbean Summit scheduled for April of 2008, he has helped brand us to the world. In his recent effort, his design with palm trees and enveloping waves for our Summit is another elegant example of Gary's work that made a difference for us and for which we are very grateful.

Richard Dowell , a West Point graduate, member of our Board and fellow faculty member at The Citadel, is also a talented Internet marketer, decorated combat pilot, successful businessman and owner of the company on which our brand new website is available to you. This is the third site redesign we have undertaken in our history, and it is by far the best. It used to frustrate me when I spoke to web designers that they couldn’t get the functionality into our site that I was requesting. Thanks to Richard’s generosity and his web wizard, Bob Huff, at VMH-Enterprises, the shoe is now on their foot pushing me for more quality postings including the terrific streaming videos of our conferences and award events. Soon you will be able to click through to our new book on Amazon, Citadel Values, and you can already post a generous donation to our operations by clicking on our join now button. We bless you for your support and are particularly thankful to have friends like Gary and Richard.

Robert E. Freer, Jr.
