  Ronald Regan

An extraordinary man passed into history this week. We will miss him and may not see his like again in a lifetime.

Our Foundation celebrates values and Ronald Wilson Reagan was all about values-the values that have made our Country great. Honesty, loyalty, love of country, love of family, hard work and love for his fellow citizen, that was Ronald Reagan. He starred in his greatest role just being himself.

In a book I co-authored in 1997 dedicated to President Reagan, I noted "...[H]is eternal optimism and abiding faith in America....and his love for all of us will guide our path which insistently beckons us to a new millenium of challenge and accomplishment."

Join me now for a few minutes to enjoy a very special Reagan moment from 11 years ago. In May 1993 in one of his last major appearances, he addressed the graduating class of The Citadel and received an honorary doctoral degree. You may listen to that speech by clicking on the image above, and read the transcript by clicking on the "Read Transcript" link.

It is Vintage Reagan and showcases all that sets him apart in our affection. Not only was he great, he had all those uniquely human characteristics that made him beloved. He was kind, generous, decent and just liked people regardless of station. Just being with him was special.
